MR. PAYNE

I am currently in my fifth year at W.H. Croxford High School. I am thankful to be back in Rocky View School Division, but now teaching instead of being the student! I attended RJ Hawkey, Meadowbrook Middle and graduated from Geroge McDougall in 2009. After graduation I attended the University of Alberta to start my post secondary adventure. After completing my first year, I took a 2 year leave from university and lived in Guatemala. This was a life changing experience and prompted me to change my minor in university from math to Spanish.

I returned back to Canada in September 2012 and continued my studies the following December. After 5 years of paper writing and late nights, I graduated from the University of Alberta in 2017 with a degree in Education and a second degree in Kinesiology.

During the summers I spend my time building/framing and enjoying the outdoors. I have worked alongside my dad since I was 10 helping to build fences, decks, garages and doing renovations and additions. This is where my love for woodworking started. I have also worked for 2 years as an apprentice electrician, learning the basics of residential and commercial electrical.

When I am not working, I keep busy enjoying spending time with my wife and 3 very active kids. In my very limited free time I enjoy sports. I was a coach for the senior boys basketball team here at W.H. Croxford for 3 years. I still enjoy playing basketball and golfing when I get the chance.
